PROJECT SUMMARY
Pink Earth is a cinematic portrait of our planet as seen from orbiting satellites in the epoch of Planet City—a speculative future where humanity retreats to a single dense metropolis, allowing Earth's ecosystems to heal. Told entirely from the point of view of a remote sensing satellite, the film repurposes scientific tools and satellite data—Landsat, Sentinel, time lapses, false color imaging, and data simulations—to visualize Earth’s transformation from the arrival of the first boats at Planet City to the departure of the last. Pink Earth interrogates remote sensing not just as a means of observation, but as a myth-making tool—inviting us to reimagine the future of the planet from a perspective both detached and deeply human.
