Pink Earth
Short Film, 3D, Animation, Remote Sensing
Project SummaryPink Earth is a cinematic portrait of our planet as seen from orbiting satellites in the era of Planet City—a speculative future in which humanity retreats to one dense metropolis, allowing Earth’s ecosystems to heal. Told entirely from the perspective of a remote sensing satellite, the film repurposes Landsat and Sentinel data, time-lapse imagery, false-color imaging, and data simulations to map Earth’s transformation from the arrival of the first boats at Planet City to the departure of the last. Pink Earth reframes remote sensing as both an observational and myth-making tool, inviting us to imagine the planet’s future from a perspective that is detached yet deeply human.
